We are building one of the largest genomic biobanks in Mexico through the genotyping of 6,000 individuals from diverse regions and ethnicities.
Our aims are:
- Identify genetic markers correlated with infectious diseases and cardiometabolic traits.
- Construct the ethnic composition of modern Mexicans.
- Disentangle the evolutionary forces that have shaped Mexican population history and diversity
- Establish a Roadmap for the analysis and use of large scale genomic data from admixed populations
